Hey there and welcome home.

To show you how glad we are that you’ll be joining us, we’ve compiled a list of all the most essential need-to-knows for your upcoming move. Keep this information handy. It’ll help you make the most of your experience.

And if you have any questions or just want to chat, drop us an e-mail. Old-fashioned phone calls work too.

MOVE-IN AND FIRST PAYMENT

You've probably already marked it in your calendar, but if you haven't, grab a pen and jot this down. Move-in begins at 9:00am on August 20, 2024. When you arrive at The Harbour at Orange Coast College for move-in, please enter through the entrance on Adams Avenue and follow the signs to check-in and pick up the keys to your new home.

If you want to avoid late charges (and who doesn’t?), you'll want to make sure that your first installment is paid by August 1, 2024. Checks or money orders should be made payable to The Harbour at OCC and can be mailed to our leasing office at 1369 Adams Ave, Costa Mesa, CA 92626.

You can also pay online through the resident portal using a debit card, credit card or electronic checking transfer, or by automatic recurring charge to your debit card, credit card or bank account. You can save money on convenience fees by paying with a bank account as well.

Pirate's Promise Recipients: In order to avoid late fees, you must pay your portion of your monthly installment by the first of the month via personal check, cashier's check, or money order. Any late fees accrued from late arriving Pirate's Promise checks will be waived so long as the resident has paid their portion of the monthly installment.

COVID-19 UPDATE

What should I expect on move-in day?
  • The CDC recommends that face coverings are not necessary for those that are fully vaccinated. We will not require face coverings on the day of move-in, but we continue to recommend that anyone who is not fully vaccinated wear one while in community spaces.
  • Let us know if you are not feeling well and need to delay your move-in. Your health and safety, and that of all our residents are our priorities.

GUARANTORS

Nothing ruins move-in faster than missing paperwork (trust us). If you haven’t done so already, please submit your guarantor form. We’ll need to approve this before you’re able to move-in.

RENTER’S LIABILITY INSURANCE

It’s probably not something you normally think about, but you are required to have at least $100,000 of liability protection by the time you move in, and throughout your stay with us. This doesn’t cost much, and is designed to protect you if you accidentally cause a fire or flood. As unlikely as that sounds, if something happens, you’ll be very glad to have it. How easy have we made it to take care of this requirement? You don’t have to do anything at all; we’ll automatically charge your account $15 per installment, waive the requirement to provide separate insurance, and buy our own insurance to cover the same risks. If you have your own liability insurance and don’t want to be charged for this, please upload your insurance certificate and we’ll let you know right away if it meets the requirements. We also recommend insuring your personal property—click here for an easy option for this optional coverage.

EXPRESS CHECK-IN

Moving can be stressful. Checking in shouldn’t have to be. If you want to get a jumpstart on the day, click here for the resident portal link and register online. From here, you’ll want to make sure you can answer yes to each of the questions below: Update your vehicle information in the Resident Portal on the move-in checklist and register your car with OCC. Coast Community College District Public Safety has launched a new parking management system at the District Offices, Orange Coast College, Golden West College, and Coastline College that has included the implementation of Virtual Permitting to replace physical permits. This system will improve and streamline the parking permitting process. There is no physical permit to be displayed. You would only need to register the vehicle(s) that you typically drive to campus, then your vehicle license plate will be counted using license plate recognition (LPR) as your parking permit.

If you answered yes to the above, you're one step closer to your new home. Besides that, all you need to bring with you is a valid photo ID. Your RA will be here to greet you as you get plugged into our community.

Contact us if you have any questions.
